In 2001, we started the Northwest Fundamental Baptist Youth Conference (NWFBYC). We have seen an apathetic attitude in many 2nd and 3rd generation teenagers that is very alarming. They are not taking the faith that we are handing them but are allowing the truth to fall to the ground. If our churches are to remain faithful to the doctrines which we hold fast, then we need the next generation to take what they have been taught and apply them in their lives. Statistics say that over 60% of young people who were raised in church will not attend any church of any stripe when they reach in their 20’s.
We hold fast to the fundamentals of Godly music, hot Bible preaching, separation, holiness, and soul-winning that our Baptist heritage has held to over the centuries. This is exactly what changed my life as a young person. The pastors and men of God that have been instrumental in my life cut no corners, but gave me the uncompromising truth adorned in love. My desire is to give that same truth to the young people in whom we invest our lives.
This conference was not started to promote any college, pastor, or agenda; this conference was started with a sincere desire to help the young people in all of our fundamental Baptist churches. I tell my young people often, “God does not expect everyone to be in full time Christian service, but he does expect them to be FULL TIME CHRISTIANS”.
If this sounds like something you would like your young people to be a part of, we would be honored. We will not take your trust lightly and will encourage your young people to seek the counsel of their pastor and parents regarding any decision affecting their future.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to give me a call. I look forward to helping your youth ministry.
